DAD

When I was small
And life made me blue;
A big hand would lift me
And it always was you.

When I was a teen
 And life got too tough;
A big hand would help
It was you, sure enough.

When I had my chilren
And the wall would close in;
You'd come 'round the corner
You could always make me grin

Now my children are grown
And I'm a grandma too;
Now it's become my turn
 And it's because there was you!

Being a grandma, it's so clear
And I want mine to know;
What's a wonderful feeling
Knowing....It always was you!
