"Our Metis Way" Dee Johnston's Metis Nation Family Website

"Pray that God may preserve the little Metis nation, and cause it to grow... and remain faithful to its mission. During five years thatI must pass in exile, I have only this to say to the Metis Nation , remain Metis people, become more Metis than ever." Louis Riel 1875

Safe Haven Stables
" Where horse and rider come 2 gather 2 heal"

Some of the horses that come here; come for a couple reasons. Usually because they are no longer loved or cared for...then there are people who own horses who realize they just don't have the time or knowledge to care for them so they ask that I find a lovinghome.

We are pleased to say that so far we have had successful matches with the new owners of some of the horses.
Safe Haven is not just a place for people to come and visit or to come learn about healing but a place of growth and bonding with Mother Earth. Mother Earth's animals and plant life are what I like to call untouched by society. No one has told them what is right or wrong they just follow their natural instincts about life. Coming here is like slowing down time and enjoying life.
